5th Grade Math and Science
Good Morning!
We are working on many topics in Math. The homework is broken down below:
Laffy Taffy A: Order of Operations p. 159-160 #13-17 odd, 19-21 odd, 29-33 odd, and 37-43 odd.
B: Test over Topic 6 Variables and Expressions
C: Dividing a Decimal by a Whole Number p. 181 #14-22 even
Everyone in all groups needs to get their Rocket Math signed by their parents unless you are on Multiplication 15. Please be practicing Rocket Math each night, even when you are on the 15s.
Warheads A and B: Topic 7 Test Multiplying and Dividing Decimals
C: Today you should have finished Worksheet 8-6 on Forming and Testing
Generalizations and began test over Topic 8 Shapes. Tomorrow-continue Test 8
You only need to have your parents sign Rocket Math if you did not pass that day. Still, please be practicing multiplication/division facts at home.
Jaguars Science-After we read p. D64-D68 on The Planets, you have a worksheet 11.2 to
complete that is due tomorrow
Everyone needs to be studying the Science vocab for Chapter 11: Exploring Space.

7th and 8th Math - February 3, 2010
All Math classes took tests today so no assignment for Thursday. However, I will be picking up notebooks from the 7th and 8th grade classes on Thursday. Notebooks count as a quiz!

Feb. 2, 2010 Language Arts
8th Grade: Round up pics and begin building your slide show and speech for Friday on your Family research paper. For class you'll need a USB drive to save your work.
7th Grade: Finish reading "Beware of Dog." by Road Dahl in text, we'll do the Active Reading Guide in class on Wed.

7th and 8th Math February 1, 2010
All 7th and 8th Math classes have just finished a chapter. The assignment I gave each class today is called the Chapter Test and is a good review of the chapter as well as a good preview of the types of problems that will be on the test. We will go over this assignment tomorrow in class and review any problems that students have forgotten how to do. The test will be on Wednesday. The assignments for the chapter test review are as follows for each class:
7th Math: Page 114: 2-54 evens plus #55.
8th Math: Page 154: 1-17, 21-26, and 29-37.
Algebra: Page 246: 1 - 34.
